The University of Adelaide Digital Platforms Undergraduate Teaching Assistant

March 2020 to July 2020

I assisted the School of Humanities Professor in creating teaching materials such as PowerPoint presentations and social media instructions in demonstrating techniques in maximizing the platform.

I also worked with a postgraduate student in combining our knowledge of social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Little Red Book, and Weibo to create an effective way of communicating with remote learning students. These materials were distributed on the MyUni portal which is a website and software for University students to stay updated to their course.

We discussed how the internet and web browser operates overseas and in Australia in outlining what works best for remote students who cannot return to Adelaide due to COVID-19.

Channel 44 Social Media Intern

May 2019 to May 2020

As a Social Media Assistant and Receptionist, I construct an effective message on social media channels by simplifying complex information to ensure the audience understands the main concept for greater exposure and engagements every Friday from 9:30 am to 5 pm.

Additionally, I produce a similar message to the community through visuals like graphic design that can captivate the target audience.  This is displayed through the post for the community in understanding the circumstances and events occurring in their local area.

I communicate with clients, viewers, and program makers through phone and email in understanding their inquiries accurately by summarising for our colleagues and participate in special projects, monitoring social media,  website analytics, and undertaking other administrative matters.

On a daily basis, I have the opportunity to recognise the system and structure of a national broadcasting company, Australian Broadcasting Corporation in conjunction with C44 local television.   The experience allowed me to explore the workplace priorities, expectations, skills, abilities in the current media industry.  Furthermore, it enabled me to be confident in my personal attributes to maximise my skills and abilities while applying University theory into reality.

A few highlights have been conducting the Royal Adelaide Show Livestream, participating in social media project promotions, and training new staff.

I assisted Professors and Teaching Staff in the Faculty of Professions at The University of Adelaide.

I was responsible for monitoring students' analytics and sending messages on MyUni portal to stay updated on course material updates for undergrad and postgrad courses. These courses include law, economic, finance and accounting.

I researched Canvas and Echo360's function and explain to staff members about how they can complete their task efficiently  and create recommendations for the future.

At the same time, I was selected to be part of the Academic Integrity project in explaining ethical academia policies to new students in a conversational format. I worked in a team of 4 to plan, present and produce 3 informative videos to be placed on The University of Adelaide's website.

The University of Adelaide (Nursing School) Health Journalist / Media Consultant

March 2020 to April 2020

As a Health Journalist and a Media Consultant, I worked on their website, planned their marketing strategy, rebranded their tagline, researched Top 10 Nursing Schools in Australia as well as South Australian Universities.

I communicated with the Dean of Nursing and the Head of the Department to develop a more vibrant page with informative, direct and concise message after conducting interviews with internal staff. I analysed the strengths and weaknesses of the department and how they can out stand themselves from other Group of Eight Universities after a 4x 100 page detailed report.

I decided to create a Nursing School newsletter which incorporates journalism, public relations and branding skills to showcase the new idea to the department's staff before submitting a request to The University of Adelaide's central marketing team.
