Couch 44 field Reporter & Producer

March 2020 to Present

Couch 44 is a youth chat show run by Channel 44's volunteers and staff. It consist of interviews and discussions for audience range from age 15 to 25 years old. This show is all about arts, youth culture, the media industry, local Adelaide, Australia, current affairs, news and local creatives.

As a field report and a producer, I pitch my ideas which enables the audience to have meaningful, fun and interesting discussions by making it relevant and educational. I communicate with executive producers, talent, and camera crew in the process of turning my idea into reality.

I learnt to create call sheets, undertake risk assessments, present on television, arrange filming dates, book camera crew, conduct interviews, review footage for editing and confirm broadcasting dates as well incorporating storyboard and camera shot knowledge from my Bachelor of Media degree.

I have created two long form journalism pieces on National Volunteers Week and National Student Volunteer Week 2020. These segments have been shared on The University of Adelaide and Flinders University's social media channels as well as receiving positive feedbacks.

Radio Adelaide Breakfast News Reporter

March 2020 to June 2020

Breakfast on Radio Adelaide is a daily show which runs from 6:30AM to 9AM to update the community on national and local news every hour as well today's weather.

I undertook the role of a newsreader, news writer and a producer as part my media degree in researching for hard and soft news in a team of 3. Our team was responsible for researching and delivering hourly bulletin at 7AM, 8AM, and 9AM with newsworthy stories including hard and soft news.

We discussed and prioritise stories based on news value and work according to Radio Adelaide's style, conventions and policies in order to distinguish our journalistic piece from mainstream media.
